The Book Catapult

Cormac, The Counselor

I had a friend ask me the other day “What’s up with (that son-of-a-bitch) Cormac McCarthy?” See, when Cormac published No Country For Old Men back in 2005, the rumor was that he had several novels in the hopper, finished & polished, even. He laid The Road on us in 2006, grabbed that Pulitzer Prize, watched the No Country film win Best Picture in ’07 and then… silence. (Well, he went on Oprah, but he hasn’t published a book since then.) So, maybe I’ve been living in a cave, but apparently Cormac has written an original screenplay called The Counselor (or, The Counsellor in the UK) which has been made into a Ridley Scott film, starring a shitload of amazing actors:

Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Michael Fassbender. Jeez.
Apparently, it arrives on October 25. Book Catapult screening & Cormac Fest, anyone?
